I am sure I am not the only one who prefers to use Chrome as their default browser. I am, also, sure that I am not the only one that is frustrated by Google doing away with NPAPI support - which effectively disables Silverlight, Java Applets, etc in Chrome. If you are frustrated too - I have found an answer to the issue!

After running into (yet another site) that uses an applet - and not being able to run the site in Chrome - I began digging through the Internet for a solution. After digging through a few articles that simply said "tough beans - it can't be done - run a different browser", I finally found an article with a great solution. The article was found here.

To summarize the article - there is a Chrome plug-in called IETab (you can find it here). Once you have installed the plugin in Chrome - and you attempt to use it for the first time - it will have you download and install a helper service app. Do that. (I've already run multiple anti-virus and anti-malware scans on the plugin and the helper app).

I have tested this plugin - and it works like a champ!
